This is your friendly Posiv-Tician bringing you a positively sound word for the day. ~TC Morgan~ We must all learn how to live with our scars from the incidents of life that have hurt us. We dont have the capacity to forget these and thats not the sign that you are past them. But in order to keep from rooting the weeds of bitterness into your life then you will need to forgive those who have hurt you. Many make the mistake of believing they can rightfully harbor this unforgiveness towards someone, simply because they were the victim, and all culprits are to be justly punished. Thus, their scars remain constant reminders to which then triggers the infraction over and over again with no resolve or end of its pain. But the choice of forgiveness releases those who have hurt you, and your scars will then be reminders that through love you have chosen to forgive them though they are not deserving of it. This forgiveness towards those who hurt you will then impart to them a spiritual enablement that could quite possibly develop the missing qualities in their life and it is here that two people have been restored. Consider this most attentively, the Scriptures tell us (Jeremiah 33:8; 1 John 1:9 and John 20:20, 25, 27), that Christ has chosen to wear the scars for all eternity in His glorified body from the crucifixion of that cross where He bore all of our sins. And all of this is a reminder to us just how much He loved us despite what we all surely deserved. Yet, Jesus chose to forgive us, and thereby released us from our deserving penalty because He loves us. It is here if we are becoming like Christ, that we too must also forgive those who have hurt us, and then those scars will forever be reminders of our unconditional love towards those who have hurt us, rather than the pain of what they did to us. This is the picture we must bring into focus when it comes to forgiveness. Jesus wears our scars in His hands and feet and in His side, but they only remind Him of how much He loves us, not how much He hates us for what we have done. Can you wear your scars in this same manner?
