This isnt long, and its not graphic at all. But its really sad. Like a lot of people, at one time I didnt know that cows dont just produce milk on their own. Chickens produce eggs whether theres a rooster around or not. But cows have to be pregnant or nursing to produce milk. Dairy farmers cant afford to waste the milk on a calf, so they take it away right after birth. Watching this mother chase after the truck carrying her baby away moved me to tears. And it happens every time she has a calf, year after year. If youre a mother, can you imagine giving birth every year and having someone take your child away from you again and again? Give soy milk or almond milk a try. Its different, yes, but not so different you cant get used to it, especially if you already drink skim milk. Ive cut my dairy way down by drinking soy milk. Dollar Tree sells shelf stable soy milk for 1.00 per quart, so I can really stock up. Thats only a little bit more expensive than cows milk, and well worth the price. Its good for your heart in more ways than one. ♥ ♥ ♥
