This isnt related to an ex breeding dog necessarily, but my rescue greyhound Brian. Mattie Parsons has been giving some good insight into stress issues with dogs on Denise Prossers post and I am wondering whether this is Brians issue. Does anyone have a dog with the following behaviour? When out walking if a dog is boisterous with him or just wiggly if you know what I mean, he can be very snappy. He wears a muzzle (which he doesnt mind wearing) as this way I can let him enjoy off lead time. My walk is one where 99% of the time I meet people and dogs who we have got to know and he is fine and likes to play with these dogs. But whenever he meets an unknown dog he becomes unpredictable and often snappy, not always though. I can usually read him and know if he is going to be reactive, but he also catches me out too. Sometimes he will have his snappy moment and then immediately want to play with the other dog, which either works well and they play, or the other dog wont play as they are freaked out at just being shouted at by him. I used to think he had fear aggression, but Im not so sure anymore.
