This jaw dropping glass radiolaria was photographed on my last day at sea... it is so rewarding to assemble these images (over a dozen optical sections layered up). The symbiotic dinoflagellates glow red under epifluorescence (because they contain chlorophyll). Just 200 millionths of a meters in size, or the thickness of a human hair. Shown here with both bright field and dark field illumination.
