This just in - about five minutes ago (1:20 pm) Earlier it was shut down completely.. As reported on several alternate news sites, including the Paulding County Republican Examiner, on Sunday that the DOJ Amber alert support system, the national missing-child warning program, was taken offline supposedly due to the government shutdown. At that time, the Justice Department amber-alert entry-point website, visitors were greeted with, “Due to the lapse in federal funding, this Office of Justice Programs website is unavailable”. While the main entry site at the Justice Department’s Office of Justice Programs remains down, the alert page at amberalert.gov is now back online.
