This just in from Hungary. They have (temporarily) cut off the gas supply to Ukraine NFM-release by the Ministry of National Development: The Government is implementing further measures to enhance the security of the Hungarian population’s gas supplies. Replenishing gas storage facilities is a primary objective that takes priority over all others. In spite of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, the shipment of natural gas is smooth. The country’s gas supply is secure, the volume of the security gas reserves conforms to the relevant regulations, the stocking level of storage facilities currently stands at 56.6 per cent, and the replenishment of stocks is being accelerated as of this point in time. Radio Interview, PM Viktor Orbán: Regarding Hungary’s gas supply Prime Minister Viktor Orbán made it clear that Hungary cannot find itself in a situation where, due to the implications of the conflict, the Hungarian population has no access to the required supply of energy. „ We are filling up the natural gas storage in a good pace, in short time we are reaching 60 % and now, we are speeding it up” said. The Prime Minister said that he also discussed these issues with Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Management Committee of Gazprom in Budapest this week. „In the next period of time, we will need a significant quantity of gas, with which we can accelerate the replenished gas capacity. We will receive this quantity, we agreed on this with Alekszej Miller”
