This just in here at the "Results different than what was expected Desk"..... Went camping this weekend, and was gathering wood. It been raining a lot so all of the wood is wet. I start getting wood from under these giant spruce trees, that was dryer. I get a good pile head off to the outhouse, and on the way I spy a nice thick dry dead branch on this huge spruce. Its 10 feet off the ground but there is a boulder that I can climb up on and with a little jump I can grab the branch break it as I jump to the ground, and add a nice dry hunk of firewood to my pile. Well..... so I hop upon the rock...check.... spy the branch, measure and time leap to grap the branch......check......leap, grap, break , land.........negative. I leaped a grabbed the branch and my weight bent the branch a lot.... but it wouldnt break, and since I decided to hang on rather than let go the branch launched me into the air like a pole vault pole. I know I was 10 feet in the air before i lost my grip on the branch. Fifteen feet away from the branch is a steep rock and dirt slope. The branch launched me that direction and the incline reduced the impact of the fall, so no injuries. It was funny as hell and no one saw it but the squirrel that was in the tree where the branch was. I am really sore from the launching. LOL
