This lady came up to me in church today. She talked about her musical background and told me she loved my harmonies, that they were creative and difficult and that she could hear the work I put into them. It was extremely satisfying, and I really felt like I belonged somewhere for once. It really made me feel like Grace Lutheran Church is the place for me, and it makes the hour drive back and forth twice a week really worth it. Vince Buscemi has been away for a few Sundays and came back this morning, rocking my sweet and sometimes reserved Lutheran congregation with his harmonica. They actually bounce at times. It is a joy to watch. Sheila was in the back on the congregation, with the spirit running through her, and I could feel her joy running through me. Pastor Kevin, had a little Jesse Jackson in his pocket again during his sermon, and Erik seemed completely in his element, having a full band behind him (hard to accomplish in the summer months). It was a good morning. I love my Grace family. No matter how transient I may be, they bring me back to my core, back in touch with my spirituality, and back home.
