This lady was such a sweet person. I won a cake one time from one of her contests she held at Summerhill Church. She was my Brother-in-law, Mike, his first cousin. Also, Judy Gallups, & Wayne Jones first cousin. Also, Donna Gannons, ( she works at Renasant Bank), her Aunt. Praying for the entire family. Obituary. Linda N. Gothard “The Cake Lady”, age 64, of Columbiana, AL, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, July 8, 2014. She was an active member of Summerhill Baptist Church. Linda was survived by her husband of 44 years, Johnny Gothard; daughters, Sherry Sports and Tammy Dodd; sister, Debra Smith; brother, Billy Ray Smith (Helen); grandchildren, Heather, Kayla, Trey and Lindsey Sports; Timothy Dodd, and Aaron Brasher and great grandchildren, Kyle and Braxton Sports. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. at Charter Funeral Home, Friday, July 11, 2014. Funeral Service is 2:00 p.m. at Summerhill Baptist, Saturday, July 12, 2014 with interment in the adjacent cemetery. Brothers Neal and Cody Bearden are officiating.
