This laminitic foster horse has actually been with us since - TopicsExpress

This laminitic foster horse has actually been with us since September but I keep forgetting to put him in the sponsor album. I always end up taking more photos of the horses I treat for wounds or malaria, or exercise in the manege, than the others. With the laminitic horses its always more difficult as usually all they do is lie flat out or eat and I wont walk them around for photos when they are in pain. Its also always a bit of a waiting game when they are in so much pain - some start to improve and some give up and go downhill until they die or have to be euthanised. This stallion came to us severely laminitic and spent most of his first weeks lying in the sand to rest. He has been improving slowly, just had his feet re-done by the farrier last week and is now walking around and standing without the typical laminitic stance with most of the weight on his hind feet. Still a long way to go but we hope he can regain full health. As an interesting aside, he is owned by Little Sisters previous owners! :) He doesnt have a sponsor as he hasnt been featured on the page or in the sponsor album. If you would like to sponsor him, sponsorship is GBP25 per week and can be sent by Paypal to [email protected] Payment can be marked with foster 209 (Marte)
