This last weekend i took part in the bisley2baynesfield mtb race, a 2 day stage race my 1st ever!Being new to the type of racing i was expecting i was quite nervous.When the race was about to begin it was 43degrees this already was going to take a toll on my body never the less was ready to race and not to give up! When the race started out i was sitting about 15th overall, slowly at about 26km i started pulling back to the front, after a few challenging hills and some really amazing tracks we came to the finish line, after the 1st day i was sitting 2nd overall for individual and 1st senior, was really shocked but happy at the same time.The 2nd day came was really stiff and my legs werent feeling great at all, we had a quick start off and was back sitting about 6th overall, i knew i just had to keep going and keep my position and time and not loose it, after 27km we came around a corner and we caught up to the leaders which were stopped in the track wondering where to go, we discussed a route and we headed out, at the last 7km we did 2 loops of single track which wasnt meant for us.I decided to take a quick route down to the finish which resulted in slicing the top of my tire on a rock, i sprinted for about 2 km well the tire was going down and managed to finish in a good time and position. Overall i finished 2nd and 1st senior i was really happy that i managed to keep my time and position.A great race and will defiantly go back to race it next year!
