"This leaves the market still consolidating with more economic data ahead, including today’s weekly jobless claims and the all-important Monthly Jobs report tomorrow. Gold may weaken on strong economic data, but we don’t think it would last any further than next week. The jobs report tomorrow will likely carry the strongest weight. There has been little news about the labor dispute at South African gold mines since last week, but that could be a major bullish factor when and if problems reemerge, as both sides are far apart.."
