This lesson is one that angers me in the church. There is no evidence that he left over cream. There is, however; an affidavit signed by him and Orson Hyde, testifying that Joseph ordered the burning of Gallatin. Gallatin, Missouri was burned, and the exmormons were driven out of their homes. Stuff was stolen. But mormons know nothing of the patriotic Thomas Marsh, who stood up to a religious leader who thought he could trample american citizens. Instead they are taught that he left over "cream". Again, there is no court record (And we have lots of disciplinary court records from the time) of any cream incident. The first telling of it was by George Albert Smith in General conference, in Utah. And the title "Be not Deceived" when the lesson itself is a deception; and seeks to make all reasons for leaving the church trivial as being mad over cream... it is in poor taste to say the least. https://lds.org/ldsorg/v/index.jsp?locale=0&sourceId=bc6f9207f7c20110VgnVCM100000176f620a____&vgnextoid=32c41b08f338c010VgnVCM1000004d82620aRCRD
