This letter was published in the Salina Journal October 14, 2013, Titled: House of the 1 percent Nancy Pelosi said it best on the House floor: She said she went to church on Sunday and her pastor said in his sermon, You cant come to church and pray on Sunday and then go out and prey on the poor and the less-fortunate the rest of the week (meaning politicians preying on the poor). The tea party is trying to sell its bill of goods by using the Bible and Jesus. So much for separation of church and state. They dont realize that when Jesus was on Earth we had no democracy. The tea party is trying to make its case on cutting food stamps using God by saying that when he made the Garden of Eden he also made Adam and said, Go forth and work my garden. The key word here is work. Well, Jesus provided the garden for Adam to work, right? So if the government, through building our infrastructure, and corporate companies would provide jobs for the people instead of million dollar bonuses, I am sure people would be happy to go and work, instead of getting $4.50 per day per child to feed them using food stamps. You tea party folks will find in the end that hell does have fire. So gather your crowd and choke down your pathetic so-called Christian beliefs that you are trying to push on the children of God, because true believers of Jesus Christ will have no part of it. Please hold your hate mail and letters about me in a safe place because I do not listen nor do I read the writings of false prophets or, in this case, tea party messengers. I would like to end by telling you that the U.S. House of Representatives is no longer the house of the people; it has now become the house of the 1 percent, which represents only millionaires and billionaires to keep their House seats at the cost of the poor; less-fortunate and the 99 percent of the American people.
