This little boy is the most determined person Ive ever met. I dont think I can properly convey how proud I am of Eli. Tonight, he took his first unassisted steps. This is the child that spent 7 days in the NICU at birth, had open heart surgery at 3 months old, suffered from debilitating seizures for 2 months, and underwent major Cranio surgery - all before he was one year old! He also happens to rock an extra chromosome. That extra chromosome can make learning things a little harder for him. But, he WILL try. He WILL achieve. He WILL reach his goals. He WILL make me the proudest I have ever been. Yes, hes 22 months old. Yes, Ive often wondered if hed ever walk. Yes, hes once again proven me wrong. My child is my hero. ❤️
