This man is a national disgrace. While he may be correct about the existence of a very wrong white slave trade in parts of the United States, his sensationalist wording has two effects. First, it is deeply offensive to African Americans, whose ancestors suffered REAL slavery, sanctioned by the government and protected by economic interests of the day. And second, he allows his words to be used by apologists for countries where, for example, child marriage is permitted to say that the United States is just as bad. This is reminiscent of his incredibly embarrassing book a few years ago in which he referred to Israel as an apartheid state.
