This man was laughed at by some of his colleagues when he said he would attack the underbelly of the German army preparing a major offensive in the Ardennes. He sent his best, the 4AD who went from Lorraine to Belgium in 72 hours (161 miles). And then the 8TB hit Chaumont ... and the new Jagd Tiger 128mm guns. Despite all this, they pushed on to Bastogne after heavy fighting at Chaumont starting on December 23rd 1944. The word impossible did not exist for these men.
