This may take a while but here goes. Well, I enjoy chatting with you guys on my inbox and answering your questions. But as some of you guys have found out, I dont have answers to everything, and Im not afraid to say I do not know, and I hope I do not offend you by saying so. Thank you once again for taking the time and writing to me. In the last few days I would select one or two questions that are most frequently asked and share them here. Well this time, I wanna share something a bit more sensitive. I asked for permission from this lady and without revealing her identity, she had a very tough childhood and finds it hard to forgive her parents and people who hurt her growing up. Now its affecting her life as a grown up and she doesnt know what to do. I think we all relate with her one way or another, whether on a less or greater scale, weve all struggled with forgiveness. So my first question to her was, what does the bible say about it? Refer with me to Mathew 6:14-15 which says For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions. Our forgiveness has a reward. Jesus promises us that for every forgiveness we give towards others, God will do the same for us in Heaven. I dont know about you but Im not perfect, and I need Gods forgiveness every now and then. But also, as Christians, this should come easy for us shouldnt it? I mean no one know the magnitudes of FORGIVENESS more than us Christians. The bible says But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. We were dead in transgression and it took Gods love and forgiveness for us to stand here and proclaim that we are saved. But if youre a typical Christian, youve probably read, heard or even preached to someone about this. As one of my friend would say, easier said than done. So how do you put this into action? Well, you use your tongue!!! When we sing Khuluma nalesimo, asidlali! We know who we are, we know what the word says. The word says faith comes by hearing (Romans 10:17), so for you to build your faith about forgiveness, you need to speak it! Speak forgiveness towards those that wronged you even if you dont feel it! Faith is a substance of things hoped for (Hebrews 11:1)... So if forgiveness is what you hope to achieve, you have to build that faith through the word of God. Find scriptures about forgiveness, personalize them and speak them on a daily basis! After that, commit to God that you will walk in forgiveness, to leave in peace and harmony. Commit to God to let go of all the bitterness, resentment, envy, strife and unkindness. Commit to walk in love, seek peace and joy abundantly. Then declare on a daily basis that you have forgiven all those that have wronged you, and that you refuse to pick up their offences again. Tell the devil he is not in charge but your spirit man is! Tell him you choose to forgive and that he has no more power in the name of Jesus! I believe that if youre really serious about walking in total freedom from unforgiveness, youll do this on a daily basis and allow God to free you so you can be the best you can be. Remember, the world is waiting for you.! Gods plans to prosper you and not to harm you are waiting for you. But you gotta let go of your baggage of unforgivenss and reach out for your destiny! I hope this helps you anonymous :-) #KhulumaNalesimo #INkosiInamandla
