This may very well sound like an unsubstantiated diatribe against prisons and the judicial complex but my research bears out most of the data. Now, put this in your pipe and smoke it. DOJ stats list something like 90 percent of those in prison go without a trial. The Innocence Project has proven an incredible number of people not guilty by virtue of DNA alone. There is something very wrong when over 2 million men, women and children will serve an average sentence of 4.5 years of imprisonment on a life sentence as a convicted felon without going to trial and so many are not guilty of the crimes they will be imprisoned. We have become a nation of leaches that lives off of the pain and suffering of those we send to prison without trial. Now tell me me: what is the difference between what we do and what ISIS does. I will offer that in many cases it is only a matter of geography. I will debate this in any forum and any venue toe to toe with any special interest group. We need law and order but when we have 25 percent of the worlds incarcerated and only 5 percent of the population there is something wrong. This is especially so when we are not safer for the process.
