This maybe the last photo taken of our Brothers from North,South and Central Richmond,CA CIRCA 1996 @ Geoffreys Oakland,CA,Pre Confused War The Photo on the bottom is Our Brothers from various areas of Richmond,Post Confused War 2014..Suisun City,CA..Thinking about the good old times we once had in Richmond,CA The Talent Shows,Saturday & Sunday baseball games at Nichols Park,The Richmond Steelers Youth Football Games,Movies at Hilltop,The Stating Rink in El Sobrante,The Plunge, and of course the Candlelight.What happened? How did things get so out of control?I remember like this photo below when guys from different areas could come together as 1 RICHMOND,CA No funk,no beefs,no set tripping just pure FUN. Weve lost too many good Brothers,Cousins,Fathers,Nephews and most of all future leaders.Going to funerals isnt a good thing as many memories past through your head pertaining to the deceased.As most folk like to say its a Home going celebration.For others theyre leaving us far too soon.Either way we look at it those grave consequences brings pain and sorrow.As I prepare to finish my second book, I often think about Sonny Graves, a young man I grew up with playing on numerous youth baseball teams together.I cant help but think about his statements he would render to me.Often times he would remind me of his business acumen in terms of running the largest R & B/RAP label on the planet.As he would speak I would envision every word and action.I recall him sayingAlamo money aint everything, but not having it is. Before his untimely death he echoed these sentiments WE GONNA RUN HOLLYWOOD TRUST ME!! As Topside Records was in its developmental stages Sonny constantly reminded me if we can sign M.C Hammer we wont work another day in our life.Hammer was signed to Bust It Records a label his brother started had not blossomed yet as Sonnys visions were set on the kid from Oakland,CA before he received his overnight success and stardom by electing to sign with Capitol Records.IM MORE THAN CERTAIN THERES 100S OF STORIES LIKE SONNYS THAT NEVER CAME INTO FRUITION BASED UPON SUDDEN DEATH TO OUR NATIVES.(A dream deferred)Please lets get the HELL OUT OF RICHMOND AND PUT MORE LOVE IN IT...Shalom.
