This message is meant to be constructive criticism, Im speaking the truth so here I go....It saddens me to say I am not going to FanExpo this year, I refuse to pay these prices, I would need about $800.00 for autographs and Photo Ops from 6 people. Thats a bit nuts... Its killing me because DANAI GURIRA, LAUREN COHEN, LAURIE HOLDEN, DAVID MORRISSEY, ELIJAH WOOD and PATRICK STEWART are there to mention a few. Also its $60.00 with tax just to get into the building Saturday which will be over-capacity by 1pm. Prices have definitely gotten out of control. I paid $30 or $35 for Norman Reedus 3 years ago for an autograph and a picture with him at his booth. Now hes $80.00 for an autograph and $80.00 for a Photo Op. It seems FANEXPO is no longer for the fans but strictly a money ploy. I will stick to horror conventions, they are more reasonable, even Comic Con isnt as much and normally you can take a picture with them at the booth for free, same with horror conventions; $20-$30.00 gets you a Photo and autograph with them. And to get into the building for an entire weekend is $35.00-$40.00 for horror conventions and $25-$38.00 for Saturday only at Comic Con. FanExpo was a nightmare last year, standing in line for 4 hours Saturday to pick up a Photo Op that they will throw out if you dont claim them. The year before at least they mailed them to you. Comic Con you take the Photo Op, walk around a corner and wait about 2 minutes for it to print out, the photo is handed to you and your done. Ive been to HORRORHOUND, DAYS OF THE DEAD and COMIC CONS and FANEXPO is by far the most poorly run, expensive, most impersonal, getting yelled at to not take photos and keep moving from 15 feet away. Its also the most unorganized out of them all by far! This turned into a rant, but until people stop going the prices are just going to go higher and higher, eventually it will be $125.00/$150.00 for 1 autograph and 1 Photo Op in another 2 years. I dont know if its the agents, the event itself or the celebrities that want the prices, I have a feeling its NOT the celebrities, HEATHER LANGENKAMP is a perfect example, she charges $25.00 for autographs and pictures at horror conventions, suddenly shes at FANEXPO and its $40.00 for a photo? Sounds like its the event itself wanting more money to have these celebrities in Toronto, again Im not writing to be an asshole, I am writing to inform people, its sad but its the truth. Maybe FANEXPO will read more concerns like mine and actually do something to accommodate the FANS or drop the FAN from FANEXPO.
