This might be my new favorite video this year. When my band opened - TopicsExpress

This might be my new favorite video this year. When my band opened for Robert Cray in 2005, we finished our set and ran to the front row...he started to perform and a few songs into the set, a tornado warning was issued. At the time, the venue had a retractable roof and the water was twisting into the place among the stage lights and there was fear in the air. Robert turned to the monitor engineer on the side of the stage and asked, We gonna be all right? The engineer shrugged his shoulders unknowingly. Robert turned to the band and said non-verbally, If we gotta go out, lets go out with the most amazing musical experience these people could only dream about. Just in case there is a Heaven and this is our last chance to get in, let there be no denying us all. I am not sure what song they were in at the moment, but the lyrics changed to something about the storm and survival and whatever else. I am pretty positive I was in full man-tears and probably on my knees ready to meet my maker that night but I didnt seem to be afraid. Robert Cray saved everyones soul that night and, to this day, performed the most emotionally beautiful show I had ever and since witnessed.
