This might be your typical Monday in Nicaragua, if you choose to live here. Wake up, sit on your patio and gaze at the ocean while you have the greatest cup of coffee. Answer your emails. Take a walk down the beautiful jungle road to town. Go to Pelican Eyes and take a water-aerobics class. This is free. Meet your friends for lunch...you have a hankering for octopus and your friends want grilled red snapper. That and a couple glasses of wine will set you back about $12.00. Hop in the car and go to one of 21 available beaches for a nice cool swim in the hot sun. Beaches here are free. Before you go home, stop by Take-It-Easy Monday at El Timon Restaurant for happy hour with your other friends. Watch the purple, gold, orange, pink, yellow sunset. Listen to three young Nicaraguans who dont speak English sing your favorite top 40s from the 60s through today in perfect English - just the way those records used to sound. $2.00 appetizers and $2.50 cocktails will cost you about $10.00 for a light dinner which saves you from having to cook at home. After youve listened to Proud Mary and Wasted Days and Wasted Nights, you decide to go home. Sit on your patio and watch the stars, some of them even shooting by. If its May, you might see hundreds of fireflies, making it look like the stars have come down to say hello. Read, write, invite a friend over. Or just think how lucky you are that you moved to Nicaragua and have this wonderful life. Cost of the day? $22.00. Experience? Priceless.
