This months Angels Arsenal recipe is The Water Chestnut Wrap. This recipe was my moms. This was before internet and since then Ive seen them online BUT I still dont know anyone that makes them. She would make them at holidays and when I got old enough to cook I started making them too. They are the single most requested recipe that I get asked for(ALL THE TIME)!!! I call them boyfriend bacon wraps because any man you make them for will literally want to be your guy. No one needs to know how simple they are..make them at your next party or for someone you want to get to know better and bask in the praise! Boyfriend Bacon Chestnut Wraps *2 cans whole water chestnuts drained (whole not sliced!) *1 package bacon ( not thick sliced) cut in half *1/2 C brown sugar *1/4 C mayo( you can use light but not fat free) *1/4 chili sauce( not ketchup) *aluminum foil *baking sheet preheat oven to 375 * the most important thing is to measure the ingredients out correctly. This recipe just eyeballing will alter the taste. -mix mayo, brown sugar and chili sauce in a bowl -take water chestnut and wrap half a slice pf bacon around it and place seam side down on foiled sheet. if chestnuts are tiny you can use 2. _bake at 375 for 20-25 min until bacon is about 3/4 cooked through. take out and carefully drain grease into a glass jar for disposal -put glaze on chestnut liberally-use all your sauce -return to oven and cook 15-20 more minutes til bacon is cooked and glaze is caramelized -toothpick your wraps and serve -try not to eat the whole tray yourself Notes- everyone likes their bacon cooked different. f you like your bacon more well done they may stick to your aluminum so id spray the foil before hand. If you cook the bacon a bit less they will come off the foil easier.
