This morning Ben came back from the big vacation to Puerto Vallarta. We had been pooling our resources in case he was held for ransom and it is good that he made it back safe because so far we had only put together about $147, an I.O.U. for $28, a $20 gift card to Regal Cinema and 4 boxes of Lemonade cookies. I don’t know what American’s are trading for down in Mexico these days but I’m guessing we didn’t have quite enough to get him back. I heard Ben say a couple of things that I have never heard him say. 1. The clubs down there were a waist of time since they were just foam parties with a bunch of kids with bottle service and 2. He turned down dinner from a couple who caught a bunch of fish because he “couldn’t eat another bite.” Now Ben has never passed up a good foam party, dance party, concert, pool party, tupperware party, or trip to a Party City, so maybe this birthday was the big one where he out grew loud music and fun. And as for the “couldnt eat another bite” comment; I have seen been eat a steak for breakfast in the office, order a burrito, and then go to King Taco where he finished a plate of 5 tacos, ate a torta, and then finished the last 3 tacos on Dave’s plate. I am pretty sure at 33 Ben is not a kid anymore.
