This morning I am a bit saddened because our visitors are leaving. For the past three days, we have been honored to have been able to have with us Ruth & Stephen Fisher, missionaries to Zambia. They have been in Africa for over 50 years. They were in Zayire until the country was overturned by rebels, and they had to move. They moved to Zambia and have been there since then. They arrived back in the US about 3 weeks ago, and have been visiting churches during their stay. We have known them for about 25 years, and love them dearly. They have been in very dangerous places at times and survived. He was bitten by a Black Mamba Snake which is very, very deadly, and he lived. He was captured by militants and held with several others, and all the others were killed, but he was spared. God had a plan for them and delivered them from harm each time. Many times they have had malaria and were very, very sick, almost to the point of death. They live in a coarsely constructed house and she cooks on a wood stove in a place outside of the house. Their closest friends and co-workers there are natives they have helped and ministered to for years. They are both getting close to 80 years old, and still going strong for the LORD. How amazing is that!!! They look forward to going back to Africa in a few weeks to continue their work. But for now, they are travelling around visiting family, friends and those that help send support to them. I would like to ask that everyone pray for these two dear people who have dedicated their entire lives for the sake of the Mission field for the LORD. I know that when we get to heaven, these two will have a special place there and be rewarded for their selflessness and courageous efforts. May God richly bless them and keep them in his care!!!!
