This morning I am watching the Today Show and they show the commercial with Derek Jetter, its a fantastic commercial. But, I got to thinking. He is a definite roll model for our youth, he is the hero and envy of many people. People are talking how emotional his commercial is, it brings tears to your eyes. I started to wonder who is my role model? My hero doesnt get paid millions to do something he loves, doesnt get the proper recognition from people he passes in the streets, he doesnt get a commercial for all the things he does, he does get to travel, not first class,but he travels all over the world. My hero is the American Soldier, he puts his life on the line every minute of every day, without question, for me and he doesnt even know me! He misses his family, his wife, his children, he loses out on the little things in life, holidays, birthdays and many other days. When I see a Soldiers homecoming, a news clip or hear of a casualty, that brings tears to my eyes. I have nothing but gratitude and respect. So next time you see the commercial for Derek Jetter, and think what a great ball player he is.Give a few seconds to think about the American Soldier, say a little prayer and thanks for a job well done..
