This morning I attended The Sears Credit Departments annual Easter - TopicsExpress

This morning I attended The Sears Credit Departments annual Easter Breakfast. In the 1970s when I was a young man I worked at Sears in Nashville on Lafayette Street where the Nashville Rescue Mission is today. All in that room today are retired. I was the youngest at 61 years old and one lady who is 92 was the oldest. Today, I could still feel the closeness of one another in that room just like I did in the late 1970s. Thanks to all the men and women in that room for being a part of my story and a part of my journey in life; we laughed and remarked today that life was so good then and seemed so simple. Back then we had no cell phones, no computers (except for a dumb terminal or two) and we called on a land line and used pens and paper to write. We actually talked to one another in the office and made eye contact back then and were not texting or checking our email while someone else was talking back then. We have come a long way in life but I wonder if we should not, stop, and go back to some of the basics that were just plain and simple and courteous.
