This morning I chaired the kick-off meeting on TPC-OHCIS - TopicsExpress

This morning I chaired the kick-off meeting on TPC-OHCIS (Teleprimary Care-Oral Health Clinical Information System) project that will see MOH collaborating with MIMOS to integrate both systems which will then be rolled out to cover all of MOHs health and dental clinics nation wide in a phased manner. The existing systems of TPC and OHCIS are home grown by MOH and currently run separately (in silo). The new integrated system will allow the sharing of patients medical records i.e. their clinical management plan, laboratory and radiological investigations results, drug prescription, and referrals. Data will be electronically available to allow more evidence based planning. At the moment, 85 (8%) of health clinics have TPC and only 11 (2%) dental clinics have OHCIS. Currently 60% of health clinics provide both primary care and dental health services justifies MOHs requirement to have an integrated system to further strengthen primary health care in Malaysia. MOH would like to thank PEMANDU, MOSTI and MIMOS on this collaborative effort and hope to see a successful outcome at the end two years.
