This morning I did the morning feeding at the pasture, cleaned - TopicsExpress

This morning I did the morning feeding at the pasture, cleaned manure, hauled buckets of water water (hose was frozen), then drove to the Coastal Farm store in Hillsboro, bought wheat germ oil, dry cob (stands for corn-oats-barley), a mouse-proof box for the cob (two little critters having recently devised a way into the old box), new Hay Hoop, replacement netting for our old Hay Hoop, mineral salt on a rope (aka Redmond Rock), and Horse Guard which we werent out of but it was on sale. This afternoon, back down to the pasture, unloaded everything, hung the salt, put the 50# sack of cob in the new box, fed and watered the animals (hose now unfrozen), closed the gate to the side pasture, cleaned up manure (some was frozen to the sand), drove home in the dark. I havent mounted the new hay hoop yet, or affixed the new net to the old hay hoop. Waiting for a warmer day to tackle that chore. Have I mentioned lately how much I love every part of this horse-centered life? I do. Love it.
