This morning I didnt want to get up. I had agreed to watch an episode of Orange is the New Black with my son, but then got completely involved in a late night conversation with a very dear friend. But my son still wanted to watch it with me, so I relented, and we laughed or butts off until 2am. Needless to say I didnt want to get up. To make things worse the outside temperature gauge read 20* F. Then there is the matter of waking the boy child up. I knew that wouldnt be fun, even if he had promised. Then would ensue the arguement of why he had to do homework on school break (because he didnt do it when he was supposed to). But it all had to commence, and I had to make it happen. So I got up! The girl child was already fully awake. She was excited to ride her bike alongside me, as we had discussed the evening prior. Coffee, bagels, and still no emergence from the boy, despite efforts to drive him out. Cleverly (perhaps it was evil) I reminded Katie about her pink violin she had received for Christmas. Katie did you like your violin you got? Oh yes mommy, can I play it? Of course you can honey. So Katie now is playing her violin, and I sit down to write at my desk. I am quite a ways into my writing, and I hear from upstairs, Dont play that thing up her l here. My plan was working. Katie are you upstairs playing that? No momma, I am in the kitchen. (Which is right by the stairs that lead to Zachs room) Now the boy child and the girl child are awake, and the violin is away. It is now time for the boy to do his homework. He has chemistry analysis to complete. Mom, I need your help. Okay, my blog is almost finished. So I sit down to help him, we organize the papers, and figure it all out. We get the notes from the experiments out. Okay so the first question is why was cup 4 necessary? I dont know mom. Well you did the experiment right? You have ask the info there. Well kinda mom.... I just copied the notes from someone. It was boring so didnt pay attention. Okay well you are going to have to stay after school to written in this with the teacher. I dont know anything about this. How about your Social Studies? I didnt bring the book home. Grrr you had one job! At this point Katie comes in from outside and she is ready to ride her bike. At this point the only thing I want to do is run.....20* F doesnt sound so bad anymore. So I ran, and she rode.... It was really really cold!
