This morning, I introduced a 6-year-old to the music of Bach, played a solo violin movement for her, and told her Id be singing a piece he wrote tomorrow morning called Wachet auf - and explained that it means Wake up! She laughed, then repeated the phrase to try it out. A little while after that she yawned (after all, it WAS Saturday morning!) and then said, I guess Im gonna have to learn that song so I can wake up! These kids are so brilliant. They get me every time! And I wish you all a Guten Abend so I can Wachet auf after a good nights sleep. I had some yummy Asian vegetables with dinner, so tomorrow I can truly and quite literally sing with Bach joy in my gut! :-D
