This morning I took part in the wreath laying ceremony for the Vietnam Veterans memorial service held at the Keilor East RSL. Today we remembered the Battle of Long Tan one of the heaviest conflicts of the war & one of the few battles in recorded history where Australian forces prevailed over incredible odds, some 108 ANZACS against a Viet Cong force between 1,500-2,500. On a more personal note my uncle Allin Moore served in Vietnam for the United States & is proudly buried at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington DC.
