This morning I tried baking (an unlearned skill as yet for me, surprising as that may be at my age ;) ).... unsuccessfully, although the recipes I was using seemed so simple, with just a couple of ingredients each! Subsequently, I figured Id probably do best to start with practising with things like cakes, muffins, brownies etc. which presumably arent too hard to get right re timing, testing readiness etc. It seems that using an oven sometimes involves more than simply following a recipe! (Ive found in the past this also can apply with cooking meat.)
