This morning I was in Sheerness with my Litter Angels team, Jess McMahon and Sammy Williams, to help local residents in a litter pick to clean up the town centre. I have nothing but praise for the hardy band of volunteers who turned up to try and clean up the mess left by the mindless morons who seem to take delight in dumping rubbish (including two beds!) in public areas, rather than taking it a few hundred yards to the KCC waste disposal area! Only down side was that I injured my thumb loading one of the beds onto the removal truck! Next up I visited Sittingbourne High Street where I joined the Mayor of Swale, Cllr Sue Gent, in a walkabout to look at some excellent window displays celebrating St Georges Day. Well done to Nick Smith and his team from the Sittingbourne Retail Association for their fantastic efforts to attract so many stalls and other entertainment to the town.
