This morning I was tasked with buying a cheap cake for work (Thanomsack Luanglath) Spent all morning driving around #Vientiane trying to find a decent $10 cake. What I discovered was GreenLeaf cakes run you $35, Lao Plaza Cakes $25+, and Swensens doesnt sell Ice Cream Cake. Diary Queen along the river isnt even real ice cream so didnt bother there... Finally found my $10 cake on some street corner, but it looks retarded and probably tastes like cardboard. (sigh) I miss being able to buy decent chocolate cake at a supermarket for $9.99. Anyone have recommendations for good and cheap cakes in Laos? Watching the video below made me realize why Ralphs had awesome cheap cakes.... mass production.
