This morning I wasted HOURS trying to match up miss-mothered - TopicsExpress

This morning I wasted HOURS trying to match up miss-mothered lambs. Some of the miss-mothering may, or may not, have been my fault but I will deny, deny, deny this to my husband. Anyway when I arrived on the scene it was already chaos, so many twins and so much confusion. Motherless lambs, childless ewes, loads of noise. Eventually it got sorted, and one ewe may, or may not, have a child who is, or isnt, hers, but everyone seems happy enough. Another set of triplets today. The mother is a bit loopy and is still trying to decide if shes ready for that kind of commitment. Theyve been moved to the aptly dubbed triplet paddock, but Ill be supplementary feeding them for the next few days and well see what happens. Pretty sure that tonight when I go out to feed the lambs, that Ill be bringing the other triplet (see previous photo) into the pet pen. He spent the majority of today on his own, not a good sign. We let a pen of calves outside tonight. They went everywhere, through fences, snapping wires, gambolling amongst the cows (the cows thought it was pretty exciting). A bit wild. So feeding time tomorrow will be a challenge. I need sleep. Seriously. Such a crazy time of year.
