This morning I went to give platelets at the Red Cross, like I do once a month or so. When you do that, both of your arms have to stay essentially motionless and extended away from your body for two hours. Fortunately, they have movies for you to watch to pass the time. So, I chose one I hadnt seen before called Marley and Me. Spoiler alert: the dog dies. At that point, I start crying but I cant wipe the tears away because I cant bend my elbows. I cant even turn off the darn movie. And Owen Wilson, Jennifer Aniston and their three fictitious kids are crying and by the end of the movie, Im a wet, puffy, red-eyed mess. Bless their hearts, none of the techs approached me until after I had gotten my act together, otherwise I would have been even more embarrassed. Next time I give, Im sure theyll all be whispering to each other, Oh no, here comes Tim - hide Schindlers List!
