This morning I woke up another year older. In the dark of morning I could hear the pounding of rain and as the dawn broke forth I could see that freezing rain had covered everything. There is an odd and unique beauty in seeing frozen limbs. I quite enjoy seeing the trees bow their heads from the weight as if in surrender to our lingering winter weather. In the midst of a frozen landscape we saw the familiar circling of our geese friends and then moments later we had 12 old friends land on the frozen water of Storybook Pond. What sweetness it is to greet old friends. I began thinking of the miraculous imprinting process that goes on with geese and the remarkable way that they return to our pond each year. They are true friends indeed. As morning rolled on I opened up my facebook account and saw the countless birthday greetings that were wished for me yesterday. I cant help but realize that the imprinting process is alive and well in my life too. As I read each comment and look at each name and look at each profile picture I am filled with gratefulness for the memory of you all and the imprint that you have so graciously placed upon my soul. I find joy in remembering why I love my friends and family so much! Thank you for the kind words, greetings and prayers for the year ahead. My life is richer because you all are in it! I welcome my 44th year with joy & excitement for what lies ahead.
