This morning I wrote out and mailed two thank you notes. One, two a store called 100% Pure in La Jolla, where last weekend me and my daughter bought shampoo and conditioner that is all natural ingredients, no chemicals (its pretty sweet and I love the products). Why is that significant? Because when I walked in, everyone was very welcoming and friendly. But in particular two of the employees took the time to get to know me and talk to me about my being new here, places to visit, how to adapt (because they were once in my shoes). I literally talked to each of them for at least 20-30 minutes. I told them I was waiting for my daughter Kayla, who had a job interview. Later when we came back because I wanted Kayla to meet them and see the store; both Brenna and Liz were so personable and asked Kayla how her interview went. Basically, they took the time and listened AND they were genuine. Then another thank you note went out to a Chris who works at Precision Auto about 10 minutes from me. I stopped in yesterday morning to get my car in for a smog test (required by CA) and although they were busy, he got me in right away because I told him I had an appt. at the DMV also. I asked him how much they charge to put my license plates on when I get them and he said they will do it as a courtesy. Later that day when I got my new license plates of course, I wanted them on right away so I went back. When I drove up they were very busy but I walked in anyway and asked Chris if the plates could still be put on that day. He said he would do it himself for me and 15 minutes later it was done. Now that may seem like a small gesture and one that is insignificant and part of his job, but to me it meant a lot. Not every person will go the extra mile and be so welcoming. These three people did that for me and for that I am grateful. Remember peeps, its the little things in life. What you give you will get back ten-fold. Spread the love and be positive!
