This morning Id like to pose a little question for all you artists out there. This question is based on something that happened to one of our artists recently, I wont name them but Im just interested at what your response would have been. A customer contacts you and says theyve see your work in galleries and they want to buy from you direct, they offer you half the retail price on your work because galleries charge you a commission which they are not prepared to pay when buying direct. Do You: a: sell the work to them at half price. b: say no, go back to the gallery and buy from them at full price. c: say something else I should add that in my view our artist gave the correct answer, but Im not telling you what that was yet.
