This morning Im spending some time thinking about the little - TopicsExpress

This morning Im spending some time thinking about the little things that live in my house with me, where they came from, and what they mean to me. This area in my living room is an example of what I mean. Nettie and I found the antique table on a Sunday night street treasure hunt in Ormond-By-The-Sea. The top and bottom books in the stack are early edition Hawthorne and Longfellow that I found in a cool bookstore in Arcadia. The middle book was a gift from Polly Haldeman that she brought to me from Rome. The bookmark in the Longfellow is a business card from Mr. Ed Levin. I paid a quarter for the Buddha in a thrift store in South Daytona. Ive carried the red chest around with me since college. It contains the petals of a Rose Wesley gave me on our 5th anniversary. The lamp came from the Methodist Church thrift store in Ormond. The dish came from a wonderful antique store that was going out of business in Silva, NC and the beads in it I just bought this past weekend in a curiosity shop in Fernandina Beach. The artwork is mine and the frames were bought at the Goodwill.
