This morning, Ive been reading prayer request on several FB pages, and all of them are saying, ...and Christmas is coming. People are sick, but Christmas is still coming. People have lost their jobs, but Christmas is coming. Its sad, but its even sadder that we feel like Christmas has to be this huge family event. For most, it is not the hppiest time of the year and some of that is because we feel like we have to live up to some wonderful event that doesnt happen for most of us. Mary and Joseph were alone for the first Christmas, no meal, no family. Perhaps, if we reflect on the true celebration of Christmas - Jesus Christ - then we will be filled with joy. Despite the illness, despite the lack of money, despite the lonliness, we will have JOY because we have Jesus!
