This morning, Nathan Dappen shot an interview with Dr. Chris Filardi, Director of Pacific Programs in the Center for Biodiversity at the American Museum of Natural History in NYC. Here, Dr. Filardi enters data onto his computer. In the foreground are the very birds Ernst Mayr collected on the Whitney South Seas Expedition - the chestnut-bellied and all-black Monarch Flycatchers he found on the Solomon Islands of Makira and Ugi, respectively. How cool to have the opportunity to film birds collected by one of the greatest biologists since Darwin. This shoot was for our upcoming film about Speciation: https://vimeo/74694051
