This morning Patrick and I took our sweet Toby to the Vet for a check-up. Bear in mind that he is Fourteen years old and has been declining these past few years. I was fairly sure that there might be a major health issue because of his age, but I was still hopeful. After checking him out, Dr. Speight feels certain that he has bladder cancer and that all we can do is try and shrink the tumor with meds. I know he is old and his time is near, but oh, I was not prepared for this. I had so hoped that when it was time that he would just go to sleep peacefully. I dont want him to suffer, but I also dont want to make the decision either because Ive had to do it before and it is so hard. It is hard to believe that Toby has been a part of this family since Patrick was three years old.
