This morning, Tsleil-Waututh elder Ta’ah George will be arrested, alongside UBCIC Grand Chief Stewart Philip, after crossing police lines set by the BC Supreme Court. Weve been here for thousands of years, and well be her for many thousands more, George said this morning. Weve been stewards of the land, and when were stewards of the land, we make choices for our future generations. Thats for my children and my grandchildren and yours too. In solidarity with all people being oppressed and displaced by the colonial court system, four Burnaby Mountain Caretakers locked down the front doors of the BC Supreme Court. The caretakers condemn the courts role in the ongoing colonial occupation of Indigenous territory on Burnaby Mountain and across the country.
