This morning as I lay in bed trying to decide if the pain in my back was enough to keep me from further slumber, I was struck by a vision of Mitch McConnell and the Koch brothers. In response, a scrap of verse that had lodged in my brain at some point in childhood floated to the surface of my mind, and I sat up and delivered and impromptu recitation to the (awake and reading Entertainment Weekly) missus. I just did a search for it, but alas, Google has failed me. If anyone recognizes this, Id love to attach a name to it... Ahem. Do not sneer at the humble pig, my child, or think him infra-dig. One often hears literary men speak of the influence of the pen. But when one reads on historys page of human pigs in every age from Croesus to the present day it makes it very hard to say despite the scribes vainglorious boast which pen has influenced man the most?
