This morning as we drove to church my husband and I discussed how to handle the border issue. In our discussion, we talked how to strengthen our border. With our limited background knowledge, we decided that we needed more manpower to station armed guards distributed densely along the border. So I agree that to generate more manpower we require a draft...I think every person could benefit dedicating service to his/her country. But now the sticky part for me. My husband said the guards would have to shoot anything that attempts to illegally cross the border. Im not willing to sanction shooting any person simply seeking a better life....I am certainly not for shooting children. I listened this morning to the talking heads I hear the sound bites send them home protect our future,,,,protect our resources....Heck, Saturday there was a Send em home rally in Asheville!! But where is home for these children? Not our problem? But then we all head to church and listen to sermons about showing love and compassion to our neighbors. We sing hymns on how we love Jesus and love others....We pray prayers of healing and protection....We pray prayers of guidance for our leaders....and then we leave church.....and forget all that compassion stuff....or just label it as liberalism Oh, yeah....some of my more conservative friends will simply blame Obama. Yet, not a single feasible solution presented from anyone. No, Wayne and I did not come up with a solution before exiting the car! (He pointed out my idea of a haven supported by non-federal funds would be overwhelmed.)
