This morning, forty six years ago, I arrived at my Marine Corps Reserve unit. At 0930, I signed for my orders and was given a ride by a duty NCO to the Greyhound Bus Station on Granby Street in downtown Norfolk. I boarded the bus and left for MCRD Parris Island, SC at 1115. I spent all that day on the bus and into the early morning hours of the next day, arriving on the Island and being logged in at 0410, 25 Jan 1969. Thus began an adventure that changed my life and psyche forever! Semper Fi.
