This morning my amazing grandfather took his train ride to heaven. He fought like a true irishman to the end. There were times when the nurses were saying it was nothing short of a miracle. And through all this and watching the love and interaction between him and my grandmother I know without a doubt that pure and deep love can and will overcome the toughest of situations. He wanted me to play ball again and grandpa I promise you I will. This man had 8 children, (including a group of triplets) served his country in the Korean War, and made every sacrifice imaginable for the good of his family. We will all miss you grandpa but I know your where you need to be and we will be here for grandma now and you know as well as we all do that the Irish will endure and overcome the hardest of times and embrace the best of times. I love you grandpa with all my heart and soul and I will always be thinking of you. The Irish, be they kings, or poets, or farmers, theyre a people of great worth, they keep company with angels, and bring a bit of heaven here to earth.
